WAREF is a Gambian political movement led by Mohamed Al Amin Bah.[1] The organisation presents its political programme under the theme Sovereignty for Sustainability and promotes a national development agenda known as Vision 2045.[2][3]
Programme
WAREF describes its manifesto as being focused on governance, healthcare, economic development, infrastructure, education, youth empowerment, women's inclusion, clean energy, water access, food security and sustainable development.[2]
The organisation's Vision 2045 programme is presented as a long-term national transformation plan centred on urban development, a green economy, ocean-front tourism, national security and people-first development.[3]
Leadership
WAREF is led by Mohamed Al Amin Bah, who is described by the organisation as its president.[1]
2026 presidential election
Bah has been described in media posts and interviews as WAREF's candidate for the 2026 Gambian presidential election.<ref>
