WonderMaker is a team of strategists, creatives and communications specialists who combine agency and in-house experience to provide organisations with communications and experiences that attract, retain and engage current and future workforces.​​

The business delivers multichannel messaging that moves people and drives positive brand sentiment and actions - ensuring key messaging and voices will be seen, heard and acted upon.

​WonderMaker was founded in April 2026 by Lee Ashton, who previously founded and ran Cheshire-based Bugler Smith and worked with clients including Pets at Home, American Golf, Vets for Pets, Booking.com and Just Eat.

Ashton was joined at the business in June 2026 by former global internal communications lead for Dr Martens, Natalia Ashton-Togher and ex-journalist and PR expert, Richard Knowles, who joined from law firm Napthens.

Examples of work

Producing a series of three online films for Pets at Home to highlight the attention every pet gets in its care.

Produced, edited and launched adverts for Vets4Pets that promoted real-life vets and veterinary nurses, capturing the very essence of Vets4Pets, that the teams really does live and breathe animals. This campaign enabled the Vets4Pets brand to connect with their people, by allowing their voices to be heard.

Creating ongoing awareness of a serious disease affecting UK dogs, Alabama Rot, driving awareness and understanding of the condition. This included creating an online digital tool so owners could find out more detail on the condition and where it had occurred. Media coverage was significant, including BBC News, Daily Express and ITV News.

Press office function for Richard Knowles' personal nine-month charity odyssey for Cancer Research UK, delivering significant media coverage across print, online and broadcast media.
