Xait (pronounced "excite", ɪkˈsaɪt) is a privately owned Norwegian multinational computer software company founded in September 2000 in Stavanger, Norway.
The company offers a range of software-as-a-service solutions for document co-authoring, proposal management and Configure, price, quote (CPQ).
Xait’s software is used across multiple industries including Energy, Manufacturing, Construction, and Business Services. The company is headquartered in Norway, with regional offices in the United States, United Kingdom, France and India.

Xait was founded on September 1, 2000 in Stavanger, Norway as a provider of web-based database solutions for small to medium businesses.
In 2002, the company shifted focus to become a provider of enterprise software with a new product called “Publish-As-You-Go”, later rebranded as XaitPorter.
On July 1 2007, Xait Inc. was established in the United States.
In October 2016, Xait received majority investment from Viking Growth, a Nordic B2B Software investor, based in Trondheim, Norway.
In June 2021, Xait acquired Privia, a US-based software company offering proposal and capture management software.[1]
In January 2022, Xait acquired the French company Jack in the Box SAS, a proposal management software company, based in Nantes, France.[2]
In July 2025, Xait was acquired by Main Capital Partners, a private equity firm in the Hague, Netherlands.[3]
