Draft talk:Sperm Quality Analyzer

Response to AfC decline, 24 July 2026

Rebuilt following the decline. Summary of changes:

  • Added twelve independent peer-reviewed sources, bringing the total to twenty. These include Fertility and Sterility (1995, 1999, 2007), Human Reproduction (2000), International Journal of Andrology (1998, 2002), Theriogenology (2001), Reproduction in Domestic Animals (2002, 2005), Reproductive Medicine and Biology (2004), Archives of Andrology (2005), Veterinární Medicína (2005), Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics (2014), Andrologia (2019), Journal of Gynecology Obstetrics and Human Reproduction (2021), Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation (2024) and Medicine (2025), plus a systematic review in Translational Andrology and Urology (2021).
  • Several of these are studies of the device itself rather than passing mentions, including Makler et al. (1999), "Evaluation of the SQA IIB: a new version of a sperm quality analyzer", and Iguer-Ouada and Verstegen (2001), "Validation of the sperm quality analyzer (SQA) for dog sperm analysis".
  • Removed all manufacturer-sourced product detail (model SKUs, bundled software names, accessory listings, veterinary product tables). Manufacturer sources reduced from eleven to three, now supporting only quality-control procedure, a CLIA classification statement attributed to the manufacturer, and a release date corroborated by CAP Today.
  • Restructured the article around the independent evaluation literature rather than the product range, and included negative findings where sources report them, notably Makler et al. (1999) and Xu et al. (2025).

I have a declared paid conflict of interest, disclosed on my user page. Any correction or trimming by uninvolved editors is welcome. MindOfDerby (talk) 19:05, 24 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
