Future developmentsIarnród Éireann are currently developing Ceannt Station, Galway to have 5 platforms,[2] and devloping a passing loop and second platform at Oranmore Station.[3] This may enable services along the route up to 15 minutes. In future they plan to create a double track for the entire route from Galway to Athenry. Under the Transport 21 plan, service is planned between Tuam and Galway via the closed line to Claremorris. However, funding for this has not been identified and no Railway Order has yet been sought. See alsoReferences
