Huang Wei-che
Huang Wei-che (Chinese: 黃偉哲; pinyin: Huáng Wěizhé; born 26 September 1963)[1] is a Taiwanese politician and medical researcher. He was a member of the Legislative Yuan from 2005 to 2018. Huang is the incumbent Mayor of Tainan since 25 December 2018 after winning the title during the 2018 local elections on 24 November 2018.[2][3] Early life and educationHuang was born in Tainan, Taiwan, as one of five children in a family of Taiwanese doctors. His father, Huang Huihuang, was a physician. Wei-che's sister, Huang Chih-hsien, is a political commentator and his younger brother, Su Tzu-yun (who took his mother's surname), is a researcher at the Taiwan Center for Security Studies at National Chengchi University.[4] Huang attended Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School and graduated from National Taiwan University. He then pursued graduate studies in the United States at Harvard University, where he earned a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) from the Harvard Kennedy School in 1993, and completed further advanced studies at Yale University, earning a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) from the Yale School of Medicine in 2001.[5][6][1] Political careerHuang was a member of the Legislative Yuan from 2005 to 2018.[7] 2018 Tainan City mayoral election
