Ishaq Samejo
Ishaq Samejo (Sindhi: اسحاق سميجو, Urdu: اسحاق سمیجو) is a Pakistani poet,[1] writer and literary critic of Sindhi Language. Early lifeIt is mentioned in Encyclopedia Sindhiana by Sindhi Language Authority that Samejo was born to Jaaro Khan on 18 March 1975 at village Fazulpur, Dadu District, Sindh.[2][3] EducationIshaq Samejo received his early education from his hometown. He matriculated from Talibul Moula High School Dadu and higher secondary education from a college degree in Johi town.[4] He did MA in Sindhi literature from Sindh University.[2] He did PhD in Sindhi literature as well.[5] CareerIshaq Samejo started his literary career as a poet and critic from 1990.[2] He was appointed as a lecturer and now he is working as a professor of Sindhi language in University of Sindh, Jamshoro.[6] Samejo remained in charge of Mirza Kalich Beg chair University of Sindh[6][7][8][9] and he rendered his services as Director of Institute of Sindhology, University of Sindh[10][11][12] Pakistan. He has attended many national and international conferences and presented his papers about the literature, culture and cultural heritage of Sindh in literary conferences held in India, Thailand, Malaysia including in other parts of Pakistan. His many valuable books have been published.[6][13] Ishaq Samejo is also member of advisory board of Sindhi Boli journal by Sindhi Language Authority Hyderabad Sindh.[14] he served as Chairman of Sindhi department of Sindh university.[15][16] He has compiled many books of poetry of Shaikh Ayaz and Wafa Nathanshahi.[6] Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Sindhi Language Authority, Government of Sindh.[17]

AwardIshaq Samejo received the literary award "Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai award" on his poetry book *Morr Nagar te meinhan(Sindhi: مور نگر تي مينھن)" by Pakistan Academy of Letters Islamabad, Pakistan in 2020.[19] References
