Khoksa Upazila
Khoksa (Bengali: খোকসা) is an upazila of Kushtia District in the Division of Khulna, Bangladesh.[4] GeographyKhoksa is located at 23°48′00″N 89°17′00″E / 23.8000°N 89.2833°E. It has a total area of 104.85 km2. Demographics
As of the 2011 Census of Bangladesh, Khoksa upazila had 32,110 households and a population of 129,555. Of its inhabitants, 28,518 (22.01%) were under 10 years of age. Khoksa had an average literacy rate of 44.70%, compared to the national average of 51.8%, and a sex ratio of 1009 females per 1000 males. 22,194 (17.13%) of the population lived in urban areas.[7][8] AdministrationKhoksa Upazila is divided into Khoksa Municipality and nine union parishads: Ambaria, Betbaria, Gopagram, Janipur, Jayanti, Khoksa, Osmanpur, Samaspur, and Shimulia. The union parishads are subdivided into 82 mauzas and 103 villages.[5] Khoksa Municipality is subdivided into 9 wards and 18 mahallas.[5] EducationKhoksa has a number of educational institutions some colleges as well within them Khokha Government College, Kushtia (Bengali: খোকসা সরকারি কলেজ, কুষ্টিয়া) and is the most renowned and old which is the first college of khoksha and dream child of Mr. Dijendranath Biswas and Rabindranath Biswas and respectively they are the English and Bengali backbone of Khoksa Kushtia and international speaker as well.. Khoksa-Janipur Pilot High School (Bengali: খোকসা জানিপুর পাইলট উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়)are mentionable. These educational institutions have a glorious history and reputation.
