Musical artist
Lokesh Anand (born 1978) is an Indian shehnai player. He studied with Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj [ 1] [ 2] and belongs to the Mewati Gharana .[ 3]
Anand is empanelled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (Government of India ).[ 4]
Lokesh performs solo and in duet and also does fusion.[ 5] [ 6] [ 7]
During the Covid-19 pandemic , he performed online. [ 8]
Biography
Anand was born in Delhi and started receiving training from his father Kalicharan at the age of eight. Later in life, Lokesh received training from Pandit Anant Lal , Pandit Dayashankar Lokesh, and further developed vocal nuances by becoming a disciple of Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj of the Mewati Gharana.[ 9]
Lokesh Anand married Payal Anand in 1999. They have two children.[citation needed ]

Lokesh played shehnai for the soundtrack of 2021 Bollywood movie Mimi led by A. R. Rahman .[citation needed ] He also performed in the song "Khelo khellum under Aman pant" in Lust Stories 2 , a 2023 Netflix production,[citation needed ] and for Little Things Season 3 on Netflix and Dice Media .[citation needed ]
