Module talk:Text

Needs tests

This seems like a useful module, but does not have any tests. I fixed getPlain() and wrote some tests for it. Anyone want to write some more? (GKFXAhechtXaosflux)hike395 (talk) 20:17, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It seems like it would be best to have an adminstrator import de:Wikipedia:Lua/Modul/Text/Test. --Ahecht (TALK

Thanks for the pointer. Those a just wikitables: I think I will start porting them as Lua tests. — hike395 (talk) 06:22, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sandbox test result page wiped out

Anomalocaris turned Module talk:Text/sandbox/testcases into a discussion page. However, WP:Lua states

By convention, unit tests for a module like Module:Example are placed in Module:Example/testcases, and are executed on Module talk:Example/testcases.

Just like Module:Text/testcases are the test cases for Module:Text, with results produced in Module talk:Text/testcases, the tests for Module:Text/sandbox, are in Module:Text/sandbox/testcases which (by convention) produces results in Module talk:Text/sandbox/testcases. That page is not needed for discussion (which should be centralized here).

The automatic header on Module:Text/sandbox/testcases tells editors to look at Module talk:Text/sandbox/testcases, and I have no way to change it. There is no other sensible place to put the test results. Can we please restore Module talk:Text/sandbox/testcases to be a test result page? — hike395 (talk) 09:31, 25 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Later -- I just merged Module:Text/sandbox/testcases into Module:Text/testcases, so the point is moot. I'll propose deleting Module:Text/sandbox/testcases and Module talk:Text/sandbox/testcases
