Shadmehr was born on May 17, 1920 in Tehran, to Yaghob-Ali Noor Mohammad (father) and Shahrbanoo (mother). He attended the Military High School, Military Academy, Post Academy Excellent College, War College, and Commander's College. In addition, he attended the University of Tehran School of Law.[3]
Military Career
Commander of the Military High School. 3rd in command of the Military Academy. Commander of the 1st brigade of the Gorgan Army (1963). Retired from the Imperial Iranian Army (1967). Returned from retirement as Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Islamic Republic of Iran Army (1979). Chairman of the Joint Chiefs (1980). Shadmehr resigned from military service on June 18, 1980, and subsequently was appointed as military advisor to President Abolhassan Banisadr. [4]
