Monetate, Inc. is an American software company that provides personalization, experimentation, and product recommendation software for digital businesses.[1][2] The company was founded in 2008 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, by David Brussin and David Bookspan.[3] It is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.[4]

History

Monetate was founded in January 2008 by David Brussin and David Bookspan in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.[3] The company developed software for online marketers to test, target, and personalize digital customer experiences.[5]

In July 2014, Monetate had about 230 employees.[6]

In October 2019, Monetate was acquired by Kibo, a cloud commerce provider owned by Vista Equity Partners, for an undisclosed sum.[7][8] Kibo later combined Monetate and Certona within its personalization business.[9]

In October 2022, Kibo sold its personalization business to Centre Lane Partners, which relaunched the business as a stand-alone company under the Monetate brand.[9][2] Brian Wilson, then Kibo's chief operating officer, became Monetate's chief executive officer after the transaction.[9]

In February 2025, Monetate appointed Steve Maher as chief executive officer.[10] In June 2025, Monetate acquired SiteSpect, a company that provides A/B testing and digital experience optimization software.[11][12]
