Olivia Lynn Reeves (born April 19, 2003)[1] is an American weightlifter. She won the gold medal in the women's 71kg event at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. In 2023, she won the bronze medal in her event at the World Weightlifting Championships held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.[2] In 2024, she won the gold medal in that event with a combined lift of 267kg.[3] She became the first U.S. lifter in 66 years to hold both the world title and an Olympic gold in the same year.[4] She won the gold medal in the women's 81kg event at the 2023 Pan American Games held in Santiago, Chile.[5]
In 2023, she won the bronze medal in her event at the Pan American Weightlifting Championships held in Bariloche, Argentina.[10] Reeves also won bronze in the Snatch and gold in the Clean & Jerk. In the same year, she won the bronze medal in the women's 71kg event at the World Weightlifting Championships held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.[2][11] She also set new junior world records in the Clean & Jerk and Total.[2]
In October 2023, Reeves won the gold medal in the women's 81kg event at the Pan American Games held in Santiago, Chile.[5][12] She set new junior Americas records in the Snatch, Clean & Jerk and Total.[13] Her best lifts were 114kg in the Snatch and 144kg in the Clean & Jerk and a result of 258kg in Total.[13][14] At the 2024 IWF World Cup, she won the gold medal in the Snatch (118kg), Clean & Jerk (150kg) and Total (268kg) in the women's 71kg event.
