Patrizia Morelli is a Swiss-Italian writer and professor of classical languages, known for her contributions to epistemology and the history of Latin and Greek teaching.[1][2][3]
Education
Morelli obtained her high school diploma in classical studies from Macerata High School. She continued her studies at the University of Macerata, where she earned a degree in Classical Languages and Literature, with a thesis in classical archaeology with Professor Antonino Di Vita.[1]
She obtained a Master's in Education Sciences at the University of Rome in 2004. In 2009 she obtained her PhD in Humanistic Studies at the University of Macerata with Professor Roberto Sani, her research was related to the formation of the classical school system in the post-unification of Italy.[1]
Career and research
Morelli began her career by teaching in classical high schools in Turin and Macerata. From 1999 to 2011, she served as supervisor at the School of Specialization for Secondary School (SSIS) in Marche, where she coordinated the linguistic-literary curriculum. In addition, she served as a professor in SSIS in the Didactic of classical disciplines.[1]
From 2013, She worked at the University of Macerata as a contract professor in the teaching of History of Latin literature, Latin Philologie, Latin Grammar Laboratory, and Latin Syntax Laboratory.[4]
She continued in Italy and in Canton of Vaud where she resides to approach in archives and in cultural institutions the importance of epistemological studies for the knowledge of Latin and Greek language and literature.
Morelli combines her scientific activity with that creative as a writer of poems and novels.
Morelli's research has focused on the didactic and experimental aspects of classical disciplines, as well as the historical and epistemological perspectives of teaching.[5][6]
