Post Script is the upcoming 32nd studio album atributed to English post-punk band the Fall. Set to be released in Mid-September 2026 through Cog Sinister Records, the album consists of vocal recordings of the band's founder and frontman, Mark E. Smith dating from 2001-14, with musical backing having been added subsequent to Smith’s death in 2018.[1]

The album was announced in June 2026 and described by former manager and collaborator Ed Blaney as the "official final studio album" by the band.[2] The lead single, "30 Degrees", was released on 14 June 2026.[3]

Release and promotion

The album was formally announced in June 2026. The lead single, "30 Degrees", was released on 14 June 2026 and was reportedly written by Mark E. Smith, alongside Simon Archer and Ed Blaney.[3]

Post Script is will be released in Mid-September 2026 through Cog Sinister.[3]

Many Fall fans are sceptical about whether the album can truly be said to be by ‘The Fall’. The main concerns are that Mark E Smith’s vocals are of uncertain provenance, he did not sanction any of his vocal contributions to be released, none of the final and long standing band members were involved, the main protagonist behind the release (Ed Blaney) was only a band member very briefly and is not considered a significant contributor to the band’s output, and that the album is essentially a substandard product which seeks to cash-in on the ongoing interest and loyalty of the band’s core following.
