SPD Technology is an international software development and IT consulting company founded in Cherkasy, Ukraine, in 2006. The company provides engineering and consulting services to clients worldwide.[1][2]

History

The company was founded in February 2006 in Cherkasy by Oleksandr Sadovsky and Bogdan Khalyapin under the name SPD-Ukraine.[3][4]

In 2007, the company began working with international clients and established a partnership with PitchBook.[4]

By 2014, SPD had grown to more than 90 employees. In 2017, the company opened an office in Kyiv. By 2021, its team had exceeded 500 employees.[3]

In 2023, the company rebranded as SPD Technology to reflect its international operations.[3]

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the company has supported Ukrainian military and humanitarian initiatives through donations and fundraising activities.[5]

In 2025, SPD Technology established a presence in Romania by opening a local entity in Bucharest.[6][7]

Operations

SPD Technology works mainly as an export-oriented IT services company. The company provides software development, IT consulting, cloud computing, data engineering and artificial intelligence services.[1][2]

The company works with clients in financial technology, payments, insurance, e-commerce, healthcare, legal technology and other sectors. Its clients have included PitchBook, Morningstar, Poynt, Space Needle, Pie Insurance and Axcess Merchant Services[3]

As of 2026, SPD Technology employed more than 650 employees working from more than 30 countries.[3][1] The company has delivery centres in Ukraine and Romania and representative offices in the United Kingdom and Cyprus.[7]
