Saccharum spontaneum (wild sugarcane,[1]kans grass) is a grass native throughout much of tropical and subtropicalAsia, northern Australia, and eastern and northern Africa.[2] It is a perennial grass, growing up to three meters in height, with spreading rhizomatous roots.[3][4]
