Grimes & Edwards (2021) have proposed the inclusion of Taliabo (Kadai, Padang/Samala, Mananga, Mangei/Soboyo)[3] and the Saluan–Banggai languages in a common branch of Celebic, which they call Saluan–Taliabu.[4]
