Stewart Shining is a New York City -based photographer of contemporary actors, musicians, and models. His work has appeared in Vanity Fair Mademoiselle Interview Vogue Allure GQ Seventeen Abercrombie & Fitch , Victoria's Secret , J. Crew , Ralph Lauren , Express , The Gap and Calvin Klein . In 2001, he photographed Elsa Benítez , Luján Fernández , Daniela Peštová , and Shakara Ledard for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue [ 1] [ 2] [ 3]
Biography
Shining was born in 1964 to Streeter and Barbara Shining, and grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota.[ 4] [ 5] 35 mm camera .[ 4] darkroom in their home.[ 6] Central High School in Rapid City, and received a bachelor of fine arts degree in photography from Parsons School of Design in 1986.[ 4] Bill King and then Bruce Weber . Shining said he learned "the art of photography" from Weber, and King gave him a "sensible business perspective".[ 4]
Career
His work has appeared in numerous publications, including: Vanity Fair Mademoiselle Interview Vogue Allure GQ Seventeen [ 4] Out Magazine [ 7] Rolling Stone [ 8] Lucky , Self and Glamour [ 9] Natalie Portman ,[ 10] Drew Barrymore when she was named People Magazine 's 2007 "World's Most Beautiful Person".[ 11] [ 12] Evangeline Lilly , Pink , Bridget Hall , Keira Knightley , and Alessandra Ambrosio .[ 13] Alicia Keys ' publicity shots for As I Am [ 14] Rachel Bilson appeared in Lucky .[ 15] Michelle Obama taken by Shining was featured on the cover of Essence 'sA Salute to Michelle Obama ,[ 16] Hillary Clinton for a cover of People Magazine [ 17] Alessandra by Stewart Shining which featured never before seen images of Alessandra Ambrosio.[ 18] Phuket , Thailand when a model jumped in the rain-pelted ocean.[ 19]
He has worked on ad campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch , Victoria's Secret , J. Crew , Ralph Lauren , Express ,[ 20] The Gap and Calvin Klein .[ 4]
