Talea Prepens (born 28 December 2001) is a German sprinter .[ 1]
Career
She is from Cloppenburg and is a member of TV Cloppenburg as well
As being trained by her father Harald Prepens.[ 2]
She won the 2017 IAAF World U18 Championships 200m title in Nairobi at the age of 15 years-old despite being the youngest in the field. She won the title with her second personal best of the championships of 23.51 seconds, having run 23.64 in the semi finals.[ 3]
At the 2019 European Athletics U20 Championships in Borås , she won bronze with the German relay team in the 4 x 100m relay.[ 2]
In 2021, she won gold in the 2021 European Athletics U23 Championships in Tallinn in the 4x100m relay, as well as finishing fourth in the individual 200 metres.[ 4]
She won back-to-back sprint doubles over 100 metres and 200 metres at the German Athletics U23 Championships in 2022 and 2023.[ 5] She finished fourth in the 200m at the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships in Espoo .[ 6] [ 7] She competed at the delayed 2021 University Games in Chengdu , China in 2023 finishing sixth in the 100 metres.[ 8]
She ran a personal best 22.83 at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome over 200 metres to qualify for the semi-finals.[ 9]
Personal life
She plays double bass and played in a youth symphony orchestra. Her brother Torben Prepens competes in the decathlon .[ 2]
