Grading: sum of percentages
- In Army Alpha#Grading, the percentages add to 87% to 93% allowing for the three values given as ranges. Does the missing 13% to 7% represent men rejected for medical and other reasons not related to intelligence, or what? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:42, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
Edit request: External Links section addition
![]() | This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. Some or all of the changes may be promotional in tone. |
'\Disclosure'\: I am the owner of whats-your-iq.com, a free educational website that hosts an open archive of public-domain historical IQ tests. Per WP:COI I am not editing this article directly and am posting this {{edit request}} for an independent editor's review. COI disclosure is on my user page.
'\Proposed addition'\: Create a new "External links" section (this article currently has none).
==External links==
* [https://archive.org/details/armymentaltests00yoak Army Mental Tests] (1920) by Clarence S. Yoakum and Robert M. Yerkes - the original public-domain source containing Form 5 of the Army Alpha. Hosted on Internet Archive.
* [https://whats-your-iq.com/en/historical-iq-tests/army-alpha Army Alpha archive page] - whats-your-iq.com transcription of the 1920 Form 5 source with original timing and scoring documentation. Free educational resource.
{{Authority control}}
[[Category:Intelligence tests]]
[[Category:Military psychology]]
[[Category:World War I, United States military history]]
'\Rationale'\: Army Alpha is a foundational document in the history of group-administered intelligence testing but the article currently has no External Links section. The Internet Archive scan of the Yoakum and Yerkes 1920 source (the most-cited primary document for the test) and a transcribed companion (with explicit attribution back to the original Internet Archive source) would benefit researchers.
'\Per WP:ELNO'\ I confirm:
- The link is to a free, public-domain resource (not paywalled).
- The link is a substantive supplement to the article, not a duplicate of content already linked.
- The link is not primarily promotional - it is an archive of the historical instrument, not a marketing page.
- If an independent editor judges this fails ELNO, please decline this request and I will not re-post.

- Hi Baycanemir, and thank you for your suggestion. I am declining this edit request for the same reasons I gave at Talk:Bender-Gestalt Test. Altamel (talk) 15:15, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Altamel, thank you for the review. I have posted a substantive reply to the decline reasoning at Talk:Bender-Gestalt Test#Edit request: External Links section addition (1938 monograph) (specifically addressing the WP:ELNO #5 finding and offering to adjust the source page UI). To keep the discussion in one place, I am pointing here rather than re-stating the argument. Baycanemir (talk) 15:39, 6 June 2026 (UTC)
