Gtkmdclark (talk) 18:53, 28 March 2022 (UTC) The section on technical specifications reference a book published in 2004. The SDI standard is evolving and has been updated to include 1.5Gbps. See bolded phrase below.

- It does give the specific bit rate, which implies which SDI standard was being compared. This article is obviously not supposed to be about SDI, but there's some sort of relationship between ASI and SDI. Maybe some history on that relationship could be given, if someone can find a source. Frogtumor (talk) 21:09, 2 January 2023 (UTC)
Technical Specification
ASI carries MPEG data serially as a continuous stream with a constant rate at or less than 270 megabits per second, depending on the application. It cannot run faster than this, which is the same rate as SDI[2] and also the rate of a DS4 telecommunications circuit which is typically used to transport the stream over commercial telephone/telecommunications digital circuits (Telco).
The SDI standard is evolving and has been updated to include 1.5Gb/s. Specifically see the SMPTE specifications at [1] ST 292-1:2011 - SMPTE Standard - 1.5 Gb/s Signal/Data Serial Interface Gtkmdclark (talk) 18:53, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
