Issues
Some issues with this article as of today: a. it is not meant to discuss what the Basque country and people are (and the word "cultural" is disturbing), and b. all the figures are suspect. any back-up?
Also, since Argentina is a giant ethnic mixer, I'd bet that maybe 25% or more of Basque-Argentines do not carry a Basque surname (being the son of an X father and a Basque or Basque-Argentine mother) and therefore, unless we go the extra mile, we'll fall victim to popular usage: see a Basque name, especially a long one, and start calling the person "vasco/a". Is it worth going the extra mile? IMHO no -- maybe an article on Basque heritage in Argentina that mentions the most well-known issues... such as dairy farming, food processing, politics, and stopping penalties. elpincha 15:05, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- I live in Argentina and I know many basque people. They aren't a mixture with another race, the basque language is spoken by many of them also. They're very nationalists I doubt that they mix with other people =/. --Vokoder 10:47, 22 January 2007 (UTC).
- I thing the Vascongada was sold to Parmalat. BTW, don't forget my favourite Vasco! Mariano(t/c) 08:06, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
