- There is a clear consensus against the merge. Armbrust, B.Ed. Let's talkabout my edits? 00:47, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
Much of this material in Percent Body Fat is applicable to this article. It would be good to have one article that has all the information on Body Composition. Greg Comlish (talk) 14:39, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose - I would actually suggest that this article be merged within the Body Fat Percentage article. I believe that there is sufficient content within the Body Fat Percentage article to warrant it having its own article, and will be what people will look up directly anyway (I did). This article is non-specific in my opinion, and would likely become confused with the Chemical Composition article. Bezza84 (talk) 12:03, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
I am against merging because: 1. I searched for this article with the string "body fat", and 2. you can always provide a link. 68.84.254.112 (talk) 14:40, 6 July 2011 (UTC)
In PubMed, the index to the medical literature, Body Fat & Body Composition are separate Medical Subject Headings. "Body Fat Distribution"[Majr] finds over 1700 articles; "Body Composition"[Majr:NoExp] finds over 11,000. Body Composition needs to include not just adiposity, but also "performance of functions, the activity of metabolic processes, the manner and degree of reactions to stimuli, and power of resistance to the attack of pathogenic organisms."
