Talk:Christ complex
Is there any difference at all between Christ complex and Messianic complex? The articles should probably be merged. Luis Dantas 15:49, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Highly agree. MERGE. 67.42.14.57 21:15, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

According to Answers.com, the definition of Messiah is in three parts:
1. also Mes·si·as (mĭ-sī'əs) The anticipated savior of the Jews.
2. also Messias Christianity. Jesus.
3. messiah One who is anticipated as, regarded as, or professes to be a savior or liberator.
It does appear to overlap, I think a merge is needed. Caarth 06:08, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- I think superiority complex, Christ complex, and Messianic complex should all be merged under superiority complex, with the other two as subsections. Thoughts? 71.59.16.84 20:21, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
Whoever wrote this article seems to be quite confused. It gives several different definations for a Christ complex. At first it defines it as another term for a superiority complex (nothing to do with considering oneself to be like Christ and more to do with having a grandiose sense of self-importance), it then gives it as an aspect of clinical psychopathy, presumably it means a god-complex, a common trait of psychopathy, and it then says that it is another term for a pathalogical need to rescue those in danger. I really fail to see how Jesus Christ has anything to do with any of these mental conditions apart from the last one and I personally think that this article should be deleted altogether. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.145.240.132 (talk) 16:01, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
This should be taken out
"There are many types of disorders in which the Christ complex comes into play. The extreme example is a psychopath: someone who comes to operate without any regard for other humans."
By the way, why does WiPe want us to use the horizontal line "sparingly"? Just curious. 67.42.14.57 21:20, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
this is nonsense
superiority complex, psychopath and messiah complex don't necessarily belong together or mean the same thing. Don't merge in superiority complex- read the article, it's about people who feel superior to others. Messiah complex (277,000 google hits -wikipedia) people aren't fixated on superiority- the idea is they feel they can save/rescue others. Messianic complex= just 15,700 google hits compared to the above, far more commonly used term. Redirecting/moving other article there.Merkinsmum 23:57, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
