Untitled
This article seems a little bit sprawling, to me. I think some sections could be "outsourced" to the pages with more details, e.g. the topics of splicing, leaving this article to focus on the features that are unique to circular RNA. I plan to wade in slowly, so I just made changes in the intro paragraph. My reasoning is that readers are likely to be college, graduate students, and researchers who will first and foremost just want the top-line info on what circular RNAs are and what they might do. Please correct and revert if needed. --Wjeck (talk) 00:18, 22 December 2013 (UTC)

User:Dienerto Edits: ok - or not?
Copied from => Talk:Viroid#User:Dienerto Edits: ok - or not?:
User:Dienerto Edits: ok - or not?Seems User:Dienerto (contribs), without discussion, has been rewriting several articles (ie, Viroid; RNA world hypothesis; Potato spindle tuber viroid; Circular RNA; Non-cellular life) - in order to promote himself, his own studies and his own WP:POV - in addition - seems the editor is attempting to remove references to other studies, again without discussion, that may not agree with his own studies or WP:POV - the editor may (or may not) be correct in the contents - a closer look at the edits may be indicated - nonetheless - possible issues of WP:COI, WP:PROMO, WP:OWN, and WP:SPA may apply - comments welcome - in any case - Enjoy! :) Drbogdan (talk) 13:13, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

Single- or double-stranded
I gather that these are probably single-stranded from the description of the biogenesis. However, the article should clearly state whether circRNAs are single-stranded or (like a plasmid) double-stranded. Xargque (talk) 18:21, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
- Good one! I don't see any references to "dscricRNA". Seems that all known circRNA is single stranded, though it it makes one think that someone is going to find dscircRNA in the wild one day.Maneesh (talk) 18:36, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
- Huh, the article ought to mention circRNA as distinct from a viroid (EDIT: it already does). To my knowledge I don't think there are any dsRNA virioids (even though the Potato spindle tuber viroid was once thought to have double stranded RNA). IANAV.Maneesh (talk) 19:41, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
Papers Cited
The prominent placement of Dube et al. 2019 seems unwarranted. The paper describes a recent study of circRNA in one tissue of one species in relation to one disease. Yet WikiPedia lists this paper as the first citation, before earlier and broader studies, and includes significant detail with jargon. Jason.Rafe.Miller (talk) 13:55, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
- The Characteristics of circular RNA section makes it seems like the focus is on the groups rather than cricRNA. I think that whole thing should be converted to a more compact prose so that it describes the characteristics of circRNA in a sensible order citing the underlying papers.Maneesh (talk) 19:07, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
