Talk:Code chill

Well, I don't even know how to make the title page. I want to get rid of the quotation marks and put the title in capital letters. It's beyond my comprehension.

January 2, 2011: After some brief questioning of physician friends, I have determined that running a "Code Chill" is a money-maker for a hospital.

Also, there is a minimum age limit to initiate the Code Chill, and apparently there is no maximum age limit. In example, we recently ran a Code Chill on a 92 year old with a history of dementia. What brain function are we striving to maintain, much less a quality of life?

I'm not sure, but I believe there was some additional controversy regarding the equipment necessary to run the code. Another code happened at the same time, but the 92 year old's event occurred first...and a 29 year old "Code Chill" was a victim of circumstances and died. Even if this is speculation and hearsay on my part, this is a major consideration.

If the equipment is expensive, how many chilling machines do you buy? Is your hospital adequately prepared to "advertise" their ability to provide a Code Chill without having to disclose, "Hey...one at a time."

They still bill for it, live or die.

WELL, Pardon ME! Here's the Real McCoy: Therapeutic hypothermia

My "Code Chill" entry now needs to be redefined and redirected to the "Therapeutic Hypothermia" wikipedia page. I don't know how to do that either.

Apparently, "Code Chill" is simply a moniker applied by no particular hospital, much as "Code Blue" or "Code 99" is used for cardiac or respiratory arrest.

If someone can link this, that would be great. As of now, there are very few Google hits for code chill. JM — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blondesareeasy (talkcontribs) 10:23, 3 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
