This whole section needs to be sorted out by someone who actually knows something about the snake.

One sentence implies that the snake coils up in the daytime and can be easily handled, whereas another suggests that the coiling is done when the snake is agitated, which suggests to me that it wouldn't be a good time to try handling it.
