Talk:DCL1

Plant Ribonuclease III contextualziation

As plant antiviral immune response and a gene family of extensive Neo-functionalization by gene duplication, DCLs proteins deserve more attention, as part of "To Communicate Science" course in Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, I've started to provide deeper context to this gene family, as they are the central core of my PhD thesis centered on Plant-Virus Molecular interaction.

By now it's still very general, but a central topic of higher attention I tried to briefly cover is the difference between Animal's DICER and Plants' DICER-Like, in the future I hope to cover:

  • Hierarchical Action and Inhibition of Plant Dicer-Like Proteins
  • RTLs and DCLs-like evolutionary relationship
  • General introduction to miRNAs research in plants
  • Anti-viral role of DCL1
  • RNAi relation to other cellular-components of RNA-life cycle such RNA granules (P-Bodies and Stress Granules) Any other suggestion is welcome
