Fair use rationale for Image:Extreme.gif

Image:Extreme.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:29, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Alas, six years later, I tried again to upload a logo, this time attempting a fair-use rationale that might allow it to stay. I hope. W Nowicki (talk) 20:57, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
New logo
Extreme Networks has a new logo after their acquisition of Enterasys Networks. I would like to add the new logo but I do not own a Wikipedia account that is 4 days old and with more than 10 edits. I'm too lazy to make one so if anyone does have one, please download the company logo and upload it. Thank you.
Fixes
Fixed headquarters. It said Santa Clara. Changed to San Jose. Company says it has 6,000 employees on its LinkedIn so added that too. Added board of directors which was modeled after the Bank of America page.
Removing Extreme Networks "This article contains content that is written like an advertisement." Template
Looking for other editors' thoughts on removing the banner at the top of the Extreme Networks article. The message was added in 2010, over 11 years ago. The page has been rewritten/edited several times and Extreme is a very different company than it was 11 years ago (numerous acquisitions, new products & executives, and industry status). Thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lisaytn (talk • contribs) 15:32, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Lisaytn: So, someone (not me) recently restored the advertising flag, and I'm glad they did. The article is, still, written like a company brochure, with the "Products" section nothing but a breathless list of all their "first"s and their revolutionary new releases. Maybe if the citations weren't 80% to Extreme's own investor newsletter, the article would have at least a slim chance of reaching a neutral perspective on the company.
