Query one name in article
I have not heard anyone in medical use call the factor "Christmas eve ",. Could the author recheck or cite a reference. 24.21.100.91 (talk) 21:55, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed, the only mention I can find of it refers to that name in passing as a "joke" (e.g, [1], [2]). No mention of it in OMIM or Pubmed. I made the change. However, I'm not an expert in coagulation factors, so feel free to bring it back with a reference... AndrewGNF (talk) 22:24, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Why does "nonacog alfa" redirect here?
Not mentioned in article. 109.157.79.50 (talk) 00:02, 17 January 2015 (UTC)
'Christman disease', 'Christmas mutation', 'Christmas factor', etc
Catchphrases like 'Christman disease', 'Christmas mutation', 'Christmas factor' were used ad nauseam' in reference to a 1950's source.
Unfamiliar with the eponym and confused by weasel words, it took me a while to realise this refers to haemophilia.
I made an edit to adopt the specific terminology used in other (linked) Wikipedia articles.
A tea-leaf reading of Google Trends supports this judgement: https://trends.google.com/explore?q=Christmas%2520disease%2Chaemophilia%2520B%252C&date=2004-01-01%202026-01-01&geo=Worldwide ~2026-49446-6 (talk) 07:49, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
