Dab page or a redirect?

For the past 10 years this had been a redirect to Regular expression, obviously not a satisfactory state of affairs. I've tried to improve it by creating a disambiguation page, though I'm not sure that what we're dealing with is strictly speaking an ambiguous term rather than the name for a group of very closely related topics. Would it be better to pick the most general article on the topic, expand it with relevant content and then retarget there? I don't know. If the dab page stays, then maybe someone could have a look in case it makes any incorrect statements?

Also, I found out after the fact that there was a related recent discussion at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2022 February 8#Find and Replace. Maybe those who took part (@Feminist, MB, Graeme Bartlett, Jay, Mdewman6, Shhhnotsoloud, Mx. Granger, Certes, Mdewman6, Tamzin, Rosguill, Bonoahx, and Pppery:) may be willing to weigh in here? – Uanfala (talk) 21:39, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

I think I suggested the retarget back because there were only two alternatives I could find, which could quite easily fit into two hatnotes. If you've found more then I think changing to a dab page is a good idea. Bonoahx (talk) 22:08, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Possibly we could have a broad-concept article about "find and replace" or "find" functions in general. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 16:26, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Actually I think Mx. G has it right. What we have here is the skeleton of an article. It could be expanded a little; categorised as an article; Find and Replace (audio drama) put in a hatnote; and Find and Replace redirected here. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:01, 21 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
For this (with lower case) I agree that a dab page or mini article is more appropriate than a redirect. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:37, 25 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
