Need article on TTM
As far as I can tell from reading some recent articles at Phoronix.com, non-Intel developers seem to now prefer TTM's infrastructure to GEM's,[1] even when providing a GEM-style interface to userland. It may be relevant that the TTM developers responded to complaints that the TTM was "too complex and [had] too little flexibility" by doing an update/reorganization "to correct most if not all of the issues people were having."
So I think we should have a Wikipedia article about Translation Table Maps. Unfortunately, the Tungsten Graphics website has disappeared since TG was bought by VMware in Dec 2008, so finding sources to write that article will be difficult. I've only found one useful source: the "ttm" article at the X.org wiki.
I'm too busy to write an article about TTM. Does anyone else want to volunteer? CWC 10:29, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
