Talk:Intellectual worker
The term "knowledge worker" has been used for about 30 years, since first introduced by Drucker (1974?) It is the commonly recognized term in the knowledge management literature. Although Machlup first described the knowledge sector of the US economy in 1962, he did not use the term knowledge worker. I must admit that I have never heard the terms "brain worker" or "intellectual worker" before this discussion. If there is any merging to be done, the latter terms should be added as subsets of "knowledge worker", not the other way around.Albert Simard 18:36, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
What, if any, is the anarchist party line on the dreaded non-disclosure agreement?
I would assume that most anarchists oppose such agreements.Pizza Puzzle

What does an intellectual worker produce? Why should we feed and shelter such people? Sure, we need intellectuals, indeed everybody should do a bit of 'intellectual work' if they can, but people should do a bit of physical work as well. Too much division of labour could lead to the introduction of a class structure.

Well, for better or for worse, over the last 400 years, science has given western civilization it's present standard of living. I, for one, prefer the present state of affairs over the middle ages. Hopefully, science will also enable us to undo some of the excesses of modern civilization.Albert Simard 17:18, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
Why is it stated outright that intellectual worker is only used by anarchists and communists? I was introduced to that term in an ethics class (well, "knowledge worker") on the topic of intellectual property, and that was totally outside the context of anarchism and communism.
