Change "An Internet meme, or meme" to "An Internet meme, or simply "meme"". ~2025-40948-68 (talk) 18:47, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
Not done: No reason given for the proposed change; the existing wording seems fine to me. Day Creature (talk) 19:15, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
The first image on this page is a GRAPH
on a page about memes, the first image appears in the second subsection of the article, and it is a GRAPH. A boring one, too. What happened to taste? ~2025-43875-80 (talk) 16:20, 5 January 2026 (UTC)

In the History section, the phrase “the Chinese social network TikTok” is used. This should be changed to just, “the social network TikTok,” as it being Chinese holds no meaning to the article and makes it seem anti-Chinese for some reason, as it’s just about memes.
Similarly, in the paragraph on NFTs in the copyright section, both the phrases “was used hundreds of times without permission” and “sell the original copy” are greatly misleading, and should be changed to “had attained widespread internet usage” and “sell a copy” instead. ↑ Reasoning: Saying ‘hundreds’ implies that the meme was far less popular than it was, and ‘without permission’ confers the idea that most memes reach their popularity with permission. In addition, the original copy of the image is a digital file. Because of how digital files work, unless you sell the device it was taken on, you’re selling a copy. I understand that the article is attempting to be impartial towards NFTs but it comes across as biased and, frankly, extremely misleading towards the matter at hand. Done with slightly different wording for the changes to the "Non-fungible tokens" section. Day Creature (talk) 18:09, 20 January 2026 (UTC)

Dank memes aren't contemporary anymore
It is a little jarring to see deep-fried memes, which are about a decade old at this point, in the contemporary section. They are closer in the timeline of internet memes to lolcats than to memes produced today. It might make sense at some point to make a "By decade" section or label "2000s" "2010s" "2020s". We might also want to create a history of internet memes page eventually, similar to History of art but much less detailed of course. Catboy69 (talk) 20:16, 18 June 2026 (UTC)
