mRNA structure
Don't have time now, but mRNA in eukaryotes should be circular because if eIF4 class cap recognition proteins and PABPI. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.253.133.106 (talk) 17:43, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
“tRNA strand” claim in transcription section
"Therefore, this causes the new mRNA strand to become double stranded by producing a complementary strand known as the tRNA strand, which when combined are unable to form structures from base-pairing. Moreover, the template for mRNA is the complementary strand of tRNA, which is identical in sequence to the anticodon sequence that the DNA binds to."
What's this about?
Standard descriptions of transcription say RNA polymerase synthesises a single-stranded mRNA from a DNA template strand. tRNA is transcribed from separate tRNA genes and functions during translation by pairing its anticodon with mRNA codons. I do not recognise the claims that mRNA becomes double stranded via a “complementary tRNA strand”, or that “the template for mRNA is the complementary strand of tRNA”.
