Talk:Midwestcon

deVore...From Demon Prince Vore, D. Vore? From Piers Anthony? 64.198.97.66 20:14, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)

No. DeVore has always been Howard's last name, since about nine years before Piers Anthony was born.

Longest running?

A bit puzzled by the opening statetement about being longest continuously running con. Worldcon has run longer continuously even accounting for the gap for WWII, since Worldcon ran without break from 1946 till now. Perhaps a better opening text would be something like:
"Midwestcon is an annual science fiction convention held in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. The first Midwestcon was held in 1950 and it has taken place every year since, making it the longest running annual SF con occuring in the same location. (Worldcon has run since 1946 continuously, but it moves to a new location each year.)

And Westercon has been running since 1948, and Philcon's history goes back so far they are having trouble documenting it. Avt tor 14:42, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I've updated the opening text to make this clearer. VJDocherty 15:12, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
