Molecular complementarity equals molecular recognition
The definition of molecular complementarity is identical to molecular recognition. If this is just another name for molecular recognition then I think that it should be made into a redirect page. If anyone object to merging this content into molecular recognition let me know why otherwise I will do so in about a week. M stone 11:56, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
- Although I still need further reading in this area, my understanding is that "molecular complementarity" is one aspect of molecular recognition, in other words supermolecule "recognize" each other through a number of means of discernment, e.g. electrical, shape, structure, "complementary" charge, atomic properties, etc. In other words, these words are not synonyms. Wikipedia is about building articles on all the subtle topics, in all their shades of meaning. --Sadi Carnot 11:39, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- I have performed the merge with molecular recognition. I am concerned that it is easy to simply throw the "molecular" in front of a word and declare a new terminology. Also I could not find any reviews of molecular complementarity in the literature. I think that it is more useful to redirect to the more commonly used terminology "molecular recgonition" and define within. While I agree that Wikipedia is about building articles on all the subtle topics, I believe that it must be well organized and analyzed to be a useful resource. Just my two cents.
