Thanks to Gert7 for the suggestions. Line 1 does sound confusing to a person who does not perform or have an interest in Design of Experiments. Thanks for suggesting the two citations, which I have included. The statistical phrase "Multifactor Design of Experiments" can be confusing to a layman, but to a statistician, it is a phrase that makes sense. This topic is a notable encyclopedic category dealing with the science and mathematics of Statistics. For readers who are not scientific experimenters or who do not have probability or statistical training it IS confusing. I request that this article stay on while it is improved by others. I'm a newbie who needs help wending and winding my way through my first article. Any help is warmly appreciated. Hi "Agatecat2700", please see more recent comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Multifactor design of experiments software. I have added a "Main" template here as a pointer to readers that they should look to the other article for a full description of the topic of "Design of experiments". There should not be a major history of that topic here, just enough information to say what it is about ... perhaps 4 or 5 sentences in all. If there are points that are not already made in design of experiments or optimal design then you should feel free to add them to those articles if they fit better there. On another point you should read up on what a "citation" is (on Wikipedia: see WP:CITE) ... specifically it is an external (to Wikipedia) source, with full details of author, book title etc. Links to other Wikipedia articles are of course welcome, but don't count as citations, and are entered with the article name in square brackets, not by giving the whole internet address of the article. I suggest a speedy reduction of the more general "design of experiments" content as a good next step. Of course someone might do that before you, but keep on expanding the "software" parts to cover the aspects you think need to be covered. Melcombe (talk) 08:59, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
