Talk:Perceptual coding
2025 discussion
This page should probably enable to reach both psychoacoustics and psychovisual pages. By redirecting directly to psychoacoustics, it is hard to find the page about the visual counterpart.Gabriel Bouvigne (talk) 16:52, 22 August 2025 (UTC)

The subject of perceptual coding is wider and is not limited to practical applications for audio/still images/video. Standard texts on the subject include haptic perception, temporal perception, and (sometimes) relationships between perceptual and verbal codes. See, for example,

Can someone clean this page up? The top half reads like a PR statement. 71.234.211.189 13:05, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- It probably was a PR statement. The entire article consisted of text copied from various other websites. I reverted it to the version of 14 October 2006 to remove the possible copyvio. --Mcoder 13:34, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

This page is embarrassingly bad, and should redirect to psychoacoustics, as that page covers Perceptual Audio Coding better than this article can.76.89.26.83 15:04, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
