I am an experienced carpenter and traditional timber framer and scholar. I had not heard this term post-frame before. I had to search online for more information about post-frame construction before I started to understand what it is. It is a legitimate term but needs more clarity here. I knew this building technique as "pole barn" construction. It could be merged or linked with "timber framing" in the most general of senses. Another general term for timber framing is post-and-beam (which redirects to timber framing). Perhaps it is more accurate not to use "post-and-beam" since most of wall framing seems to be dimensional lumber (2x6 2x8, 2x10, etc.)and the roof framing I found are trusses and the so their are posts but beams are optional. I agree this page sounds promotional. Jim Derby (talk) 02:14, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
I believe Pole building framing is the same building technique and these pages can be merged. Jim Derby (talk) 19:47, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
