He is actually from Flandern in Belgium where they speak Dutch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.135.238.203 (talkcontribs)

FWIW, I presume this prior comment is meant to refer to GvR; if so, it seems to be incorrect. A t least GvR's WP article and that other biography description I've seen contradict it. In any case, that's not the topic of this article, so irrelevant in any case. LotLE×talk 17:41, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Do not redirect

The desire for this page was discussed at some length over at Talk:Python programming language. Please do not effectively delete this page by redirection. Or at very least, do no do so without a proper merge discussion first! LotLE×talk 17:38, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Where? I dug through the current page and four archived pages and I saw no discussion at all that pointed to the desire for a separate page on "Python philosophy." This article is worthless. It merely copies verbatim a PEP. Not only is the PEP pure fluff, but the verbatim copying of it to this site is not encyclopedic. "Wikipedia is not a mirror or a repository of links, images, or media files," says Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not. There is even Wikipedia:Don't include copies of primary sources. I would edit this article to make it something worthwhile, but the simple fact is there is NO notable "Python Philosophy" that is worthy of an entire article on the subject. But, if this has been discussed before I would happily accept a link to that discussion because I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks it's silly to copy PEPs to Wikipedia. Hmmm... I'm sure I recall the discussion, maybe I'll try to dig it up. But in any case, if you think the page should be deleted, merged, or redirected, please utilize an appropriate WP administrative mechanism for discussion: either AfD or merge, most likely. I personally tend to think the article is worth keeping, but if consensus is against that opinion, I'm not that attached to this article. But so far, only Massysett has voiced this deletionist sentiment; that's just not consensus by itself. LotLE×talk 21:46, 11 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
