"then came under a joint British and New Zealand colonial administration until 1 January 1962" I think this is wrong. The administration was by New Zealand, under a League of Nations mandate and later a UN Trust Territory. The in Country Information template there is a list of religion adherence. This has two references. One says that 98% of the population is Christian. The other gives numbers of people who adhere to particular churches. Nowhere does it categorise these churches as being Protestant or even Christian. An edit was made that gave a different percentage of various groups and combined several groups as being Protestant. It also invented a group 'Other Christian' that was not in the cited reference. This information is either uncited or original research.

An edit to replace the figures by percentages derived from the actual reference has been reverted. It is necessary for the new figures to be referenced. Rather than get into a revert contest, I'll wait a day. Unless there is any evidence that the made up figures are true, I'll revert to the official figures. I added the mainline protestant denominations into a single group, along with Mormonism, Catholicism and other Christian categories taken from the religion in Samoa. Your figures don't even add up to 100% and give infobox a very bad look too. So I have removed them for good and instead mentioned that Christianity is official religion same as before.Serralia (talk) 23:39, 17 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

We have two references. https://thediplomat.com/2017/06/samoa-officially-becomes-a-christian-state/ states that Samoa is 98% Christian. The other https://www.sbs.gov.ws/documents/census/2021/Census_2021_Final_Report.pdf?_t=1670528927 is the official census and gives the recorded figures for several different religions and sects. Whilst the exact census figures add to 100% the rounded figures add to 100.1%. This is a common problem whenever figures are rounded and has two solutions. We can just leave the figures and trust that people will note there is a rounding error. Alternatively we can round one of the figures down and so get 100%. Note that the census figures do not totally align with the Newspaper article. Presumably the article was rounded to the nearest 1%. Perhaps we can omit the 98% figure. It would really help in understanding the system of local governance in Samoa on English-language wikipedia if English terms were used for various administration heads. In the Districts section, were are given examples of paramount chiefs who appear to be the heads of at least four of the districts, but we're not given a collective term for what the other chiefs are who head up the remaining districts. And then we're given terms like "traditional salutations" which has absolutely no meaning for a laymen trying to understand local government. The Districts, themselves, don't even really seem to be what we'd call "administrative divisions" as it appears that local government is through village councils...which are also barely referenced. Each article dealing with "Districts" have "examples" but those examples don't actually speak to how services and such are administered. We're given a long, wound-out description of titles and genealogy, which while interesting, isn't typically what these sections are supposed to focus on in Wikipedia.

So...are the Districts responsible for for administering municipal services or local government? Can someone find some sources for what local government and local administration in Samoa actually is?
