which version of Python does SciPy need?

On NumPy page it's written that NumPy 1.3.0, released 5 April 2009, supports Python 2.6. As SciPy depends on NumPy, maybe SciPy also supports Python 2.6? Kazkaskazkasako (talk) 06:54, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Propose creating a History of SciPy section in the article and update first paragraph

I would like to propose we extract the history portions of the first paragraph and create a slightly more extensive "History of SciPy" section within the article. And to then flesh out the first paragraph I would propose we speak to the two uses of the term SciPy, as the name for the entire scientific compute stack or set of packages for doing scientific computing with Python, as well as its meaning as the specific Python package of the same name. This would support the conclusion of the community discussion about the meaning of SciPy in a NUMFocus thread. http://mail.scipy.org/pipermail/scipy-user/2012-October/033374.html

Any thoughts?
