Talk:Springfield model 1884

"model" 1884?

Isn't it supposed to be capitalized as "Model 1884"? I've never seen it written as "model 1884". They don't call it an m1884, it's an M1884. It looks weird written with a lowercase (same goes for the Model 1873, etc). On the Page on the Springfield M1903, they call it the "Model 1903". Why would one gun be a "model" and the others are "Models"? And properly, the title would be "Springfield Model of 1884", or "Springfield Rifle, Model of 1884", not "model 1884". I believe that's what the Army called them, anyway. I also question the "serrated" trigger...how is it "serrated"? I look at the picture, and it appears to be checkered, which is a common machining operation on firearms, but even if it only had horizontal grooves machined into it, I wouldn't call that "serrated" necessarily.
