The overview section could be eliminated and replaced with a historical encapsulation of textile design, which is currently missing from the article. I'm slowly moving my edits into the article along with my citations! I'm leaving the 'overview' portion for now, but have rewritten the major points the earlier version of the article contained. I believe the tone has been sufficiently updated to reflect the encyclopedic tone of Wikipedia, please let me know if there are any issues / if the article flag can be removed. I have removed the Historic figures section because it was copied almost entirely from two websites:

• The paragraphs on Zika Ascher, Terence Conran, Hull Traders, and Eddie Squires came from Victoria and Albert Museum.
• The paragraph on Gunta Stölzl came from TextileArtist.org.
