It can be used to mark a page as a navigation page.
Usage

Parameters
Two positional (unnamed) and four named params; all optional:
|1=yes– shows optional navigation links; default: no optional links|2=PAGENAME of article– only needed if different than current pagename; default:{{PAGENAME}}|nocat=yes– suppresses § Categorization; default: categorized|noquote=yes– performs unquoted search (many more results); default: quoted (exact match search; few results, better precision)|nostart=yes– suppresses the start link if|1=yes, so that only two links are emitted|demospace=– set the value to any namespace name to test § Categorization; possible values: see the namespace table.
Categorization
This template automatically adds articles to Category:Navigation pages. Its behavior can be altered by two parameters:
- Use param
|nocat=to suppress categorization. - Use param
|demospace=to test categorization by acting as if the page (param|2=or current PAGENAME) were in the given namespace.

If a navigation page contains a Notes or References section and/or a navbox and you wish to place navigation links above such content whilst still keeping the main notice on the bottom, you can insert {{navlinks}} at the desired location within the page. To hide the invite to start an article, you can insert {{navlinks|nostart}} instead.
