 | This template is used in MediaWiki:Protectedinterface, MediaWiki:Sitecssprotected, and MediaWiki:Sitejsprotected. Changes to it can cause immediate changes to the Wikipedia user interface. To avoid major disruption, any changes should be tested in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. The tested changes can be added to this page in a single edit. Please discuss changes on the talk page before implementing them. |

A template to be applied to protected interface messages/skins (part of the MediaWiki interface), stating that most users are not allowed to perform a certain action on the thing that this template has been applied to. It also provides a handy 'submit edit request' message, for everyone else who may want to request a certain edit to the thing in question.
