Lockdowns
As of March 30 there are lockdowns in several countries and areas (as can be seen here), but I notice that only 8 are mentioned in this template. Is there any particular reason for that? And if not, should we add here every lockdown or remove them all together? Esslet (talk) 20:50, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I believe the reason for that is that other lockdowns don't have dedicated articles. To my understanding, the purpose of templates such as these is to provide links to related articles, not to summarise all of the possible information. If it isn't a link, it doesn't get added to the template. Ypna (talk) 10:47, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ypna I understand what you are saying but this doesn't seem to be what's happening. Five countries (Austria, Czech Republic, France, Spain, Venezuela) out of the nine mentioned in the template in the lockdowns section atm have no lockdown-dedicated articles, just country-specific articles regarding the pandemic. This template makes no sense as it is right now and needs some kind of update. Esslet (talk) 12:54, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I have removed the selective locations with a full list of locations under lockdown around the World for a better overview. --Shawnqual (talk) 09:43, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The list of hospitals in Wuhan is getting a little old — they're definitely not the only hospitals involved at this point. Time for a change? {{u|Sdkb}}talk04:51, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Delete. The virus is everywhere now, to list all the hospitals dealing with lots of cases would be way too long. buidhe08:50, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Delete and I agree with removing "institutions" too. I think the section should only come back if, at some point, we have substantial articles specific to COVID-19 (e.g. List of companies producing COVID-19 tests). --MarioGom (talk) 18:29, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I have removed the list of hospitals per the above discussion. Waiting for more input to see if institutions should be removed too. --MarioGom (talk) 08:29, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Delete 'Institution' is quite redundant and serves no discernible purpose. There's no way we could add/display all the major CDC and Organizations for all the countries and territories. Even if we manage to, what possible use would that have? It's not like the linked pages are displaying particular information regarding the pandemic in the country/territory. --Shawnqual (talk) 16:52, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The impacts section is becoming overwhelmed with articles, and I feel like we could split it into two categories: sociopolitical & economic. I think this change would make it easier to search for various effects of the pandemic. Is anyone opposed to this idea? BappleBusiness (talk) 19:06, 24 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
