Template talk:Marvel events
I moved the 2000/2001 even to the 2000's section from the 90's since it started in 2000--70.49.186.37 (talk) 17:53, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2010-03-09T17:53:00.000Z","author":"70.49.186.37","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-70.49.186.37-2010-03-09T17:53:00.000Z-Maximum_Security","replies":[]}}-->
Should the events that are currently listed under "Cosmic events" be split apart from the rest? Stuff like The Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity Abyss, etc. are also cosmic events. I think that what is currently listed under "Cosmic events" should be merged into the chronological listing with everything else (in the appropriate order). - Agreed. "Cosmic" is in-universe information, and the arragement (years of publication) is out-of-universe information, they shouldn't be mixed. "Cosmic" may also mean, from an out-of-universe perspective, an event involving only a small and limited number of characters (the "cosmic" ones) and not the whole of the marvel universe, but similar things may be pointed elsewhere. For example, "Heroes Reborn" left out mutants and Spider-Man MBelgrano (talk) 14:37, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2010-09-27T14:37:00.000Z","author":"MBelgrano","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-MBelgrano-2010-09-27T14:37:00.000Z-Spidey104-2010-09-15T19:57:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
- I am agreed too.--Crazy runner (talk) 15:58, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2010-09-27T15:58:00.000Z","author":"Crazy runner","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Crazy_runner-2010-09-27T15:58:00.000Z-Spidey104-2010-09-15T19:57:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
- Unless it's a "cycle" of sales events - and there is a reliable source to point to that - there shouldn't be a split based on content. On a side note... for the sake of making the ordering clear, shouldn't the start cover dates be included? Otherwise someone may make a good faith attempt to alphabetize the content.

- I agree with J Greb's idea to include start cover date, but how specific do we want to be? Just the year (I assume we'd put this information within parentheses after the title/link), or include the month as well? Do we include the end date as well? - If I look Avengers Disassembled and Secret War (comics), I say begin-end date with month if you want to be specific.Crazy runner (talk) 16:06, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2010-09-28T16:06:00.000Z","author":"Crazy runner","type":"comment","level":4,"id":"c-Crazy_runner-2010-09-28T16:06:00.000Z-Spidey104-2010-09-28T15:21:00.000Z","replies":["c-J_Greb-2010-09-28T17:21:00.000Z-Crazy_runner-2010-09-28T16:06:00.000Z"]}}-->
- I was thinking more the start year and month. That would show why projects with the same start year aren't alphabetized. The 2010s are an excellent example of this. The end point is a little iffy - it would round out the information, but it really isn't necessary.

The template header describes them as "Crossover events", but included some (Thanos Imperative, Infinity Abyss) that were self-contained mini-series with no tie-ins. I think either they or the word "Crossover" should be removed from the template. The 90s Midnight Sons trilogy of crossovers isn't listed here. Should they be?
